Stove, chimney and fireplace safety
We deal with the repair and general maintenance of any stove, chimney or fireplace. There are various good reasons to monitor and attend to any maintenance jobs related to your stove, fireplace or chimney. The most important being safety. Aside from having a regularly swept chimney it’s also important to ensure your stove flue is sealed correctly and that there are no obstructions to the airflow – such as a bird’s nest or a tarred up cowls. Any obstructions like these can lead to smoke leaking back into your room and risking carbon monoxide poisoning.
Performance and looks
As well as safety this issues also affect the performance of your stove or fire. If your fire is drawing badly this creates more tar in your smoke which will compound the problem and lead to your chimney needing sweeping more often. And finally there is also the aesthetics of you fireplace. Being the centerpiece of a room its simply nice – and often very affordable – to have your fireplace fixed up with a good mantlepiece and surrounding tiles and other decorative features.
